Make your New Year’s Resolutions stick with these simple tips.
- Write them down. Actually writing them will help you formulate your dreams into goals, taking your focus from ideas into measurable objectives. Try using the *SMART goal method
- Consider your motivation. Picture the outcome of what your life will be like when this area is a win! Look at what it will cost you if you don’t move forward in this arena. Using these two tools can give you the will power to make it past this initial hump.
- Set up a follow through plan. I encourage people to set their own yellow and red flag demarcations and what will happen if they slip into one of these zones.* Another way to assist in follow up is through inviting feedback – both intentionally and on-the-fly.
It can be that simple. Just setting aside some time for yourself to consider who you want to be and how that can happen changes everything.
So grab your daytimer and mark in some time for yourself and God to look at who you are and where you are going. He has big plans for you and wants to walk with you on this adventure of life – building bridges to what could be!
