Just finished reading a best seller by an epic leader and can’t wait to implement what he did so I can see results like him! This is documented authentic city taking we are talking about here folks. This guy has a proven plan and lives have been forever changed, enemies have been overcome, destinies have been altered…
So, here’s the skinny in basically 2 simple steps: Get your group together and lay out this plan.
- March around the city with your army once a day for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets made from horns of male sheep and have them march in front of the Ark.
- On the seventh day march around the city seven times and have the priests blow the trumpets as they march. They will make one long blast on the trumpets. When you hear that sound, have all the people give a loud shout.
Then the walls of the city will fall!
How cool is that!?! Simplicity in epic form!
Okay, so by now you have realized that I am talking about Joshua and Jericho. But to be truthful I could be promoting one of many other contemporary best sellers telling me what worked for them. I love that they have a story. I love that it worked for them and that the kingdom is being promoted in their world, but even Joshua’s next quest, Ai, was not conquered in the same way that Jericho was. Their stories are great models of how they listened to God, leaned into Him and experienced growth and change in their arenas.
What is your story? We can get ideas from others. We can be inspired by their adventures and conquests, but God has a unique pathway for each of us. He doesn’t want us to follow others’ plans. God is jealous for unique and personal interaction with us individually.
So, learn from others, consider the possibilities, but in the end the whole thing is about a personal relationship and a unique plan! Where are you going? And how are you getting there?
