Being able to verbalize your next step is probably more important than you think. Vague ideas of what you could or should be doing will likely result in little or no actual action. One of Webster’s definitions of the word stuck is “to halt the movement or action of”. If you can’t say what you are doing then likely you are not really doing anything.
If you take any of my Coach Training you will hear me talk about how a GPS only works if you put in a target location. There may be multiple ways to get from here to here – the scenic route, the quickest route, the least expensive route and so on, but the end result is that you are going somewhere. If you can’t say where you are going then you likely aren’t going anywhere or you are just driving around aimlessly.
Sometimes life can be like that. Most people don’t set out to get stuck, it just happens slowly when the day-to-day stuff of life siphons your attention and energy and all of the sudden you realize you are just getting by. There is so much more! God has plans for your life! They are seeds of desire He has placed within you. They are who He made you to be. But you have to engage with Him to make it happen. It’s kind of like how actual seeds can remain dormant for years if they are not planted in fertile soil where they can receive the water they need to grow. Seeds untended are like ideas or dreams without goals and action steps.
Do you have some next steps you need to be taking? Some seeds that need to be planted and tended?
